I decided to walk around Lincoln Park a little bit to break in my new sneakers. I kinda went houndstooth crazy with my outfit. The t-shit I’m wearing is a boy’s tee that I cropped. I love the acorn necklace I’m wearing…pretty much because I’m obsessed with Peter Pan.

(shirt: Nike, shorts: Victoria’s Secret, tights: Hue, sneakers: Nikes, mismatched earrings: Top Shop)

Awesome street style, you make me think about the 90’s! I personally think that alot of fashion from the 90’s is really good and so underrated! You’re face suits it too!

I definitely can understand where you’re coming from, TJ.
I checked out the site you posted and that’s very cool.

thanks so much! and you’re right- the glasses are just a pair of 3D glasses from the movies that I covered in duct tape and then made some little hearts to go on over the lenses for a pop of color.

  2. Never been to Chicago, except in your beautiful pictures. (Not wanting to sound like a stalker, but I know your mom and dad (and met your sister a few weeks ago at a wedding)! M proudly shouted you had been freshly pressed on FB – congrats!

I wanted to you know that I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award, and certainly you deserve it. Please see my post from today at “Lens and Pens by Sally” to see the details. Congratulations, Sally

  4. Love the order of the pics…says a lot about your fine creativity. Perhaps some of your readers may like a VERY long post i did a couple of years’ ago…it’s a bit about shoes but not as good as this post. I still cannot get the hang of how to make pics appear on my page where I edit. The page always comes out moved around. Thanks! http://wp.me/pDQWN-fv

  5. this is almost why i hate getting new shoes, you have to break them in…i know they look clean and all but that time period sucks trying to make them feel and tie write and walk write…oy vey

I put them together in photoshop before I uploaded them here.
I don’ think you can make them side by side otherwise (but that probably depends on your layout and template)

  6. Love the retro look; not something I could pull off on the street but would rock on the set of a beloved 80’s sitcom. Flashback.. Gotta love old-school sneakers. And congrats on making the home page!

  7. Great pics! I wasn’t sure what to expect with the title “Breaking in a New Pair of Shoes”, but I am glad I checked it out. You would fit right in with that great fashion sense here in NYC! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Always enjoy your style. I’ve got a pair of old school Nikes that I absolutely love! Found them at a thrift shop. I’ll take a pic of them and post them on my blog. I’ll let you know once I do!

  9. Love the photos, especially the leaves and the bare branches. Great. Hope you enjoy my latest post – except the birds are rather different in N America than UK. Ho0pe to sort photos soon!

  10. Well I must say, you are stylin’ missy! All this to go for a walk to break in your shoes? Wow! On top of that, you have to have a photographer in tow to get such great shots…hmmm! I definitely need to rethink my walking wardrobe. Margie
