Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know about a really cool design studio project called Tread Project, that teaches high school students about shoe design.
We all know how important the right shoes can be at that age.
Heck- they are still even really important to me at my age- and I know a lot of people who feel the same way.
Shoes design can be a great opportunity to live out your passion and express yourself.
How awesome would it be to be a high schooler equipped with that kind of knowledge?
Three Industrial Design seniors at the University of Cincinnati are teaching the design ropes to 25 lucky high school students.
It’s a 7 week program that goes through the many steps of the shoe design process such as brainstorming, sketching, prototyping, design direction, ethics, brand building, storytelling, advanced visualization, and so on.
I’ve spent some time reading through their blog, and it seems like the program is a blast!
I encourage you to vote for them here, at Cincinnati Innovates so that Tread Project could be in the runnings to get more funding.
It’s so important to support young people in their creative passions.
Where would we be without the youth creating and seeking out knowledge?
Go ahead and vote for them! It’ll only take a minute to do a good thing!
