Exploring Whistler, But Not in Winter

It’s no secret that Whistler is a little slice of heaven. People have been traveling there to ski for ages. What I didn’t know is that this place is even better in the summer! The ski slopes morph into mountain biking trails, the hiking and biking paths are unparalleled, and the gondolas are fun to ride just for the views.

We stayed at the Delta Whistler Suites and really enjoyed it. It’s the perfect spot to unwind in the hot tub after a day of hiking and positioned well within the nightlife area. Exploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez Conway

Much of the hike is along the Green River. In the pictures below you’ll find it was accurately named. Exploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez Conway

I’ve talked about Jetboats a bit in my other posts. They are famous in New Zealand. There are many in Norway. But who knew they were in Canada too?! Jetboats can glide over just 4 inches of water. I’ve ridden a few and was terrified the entire time. Turns out it’s terrifying to watch them from the shoreline too. This boat passed as we were wading in the water, causing us to jump out quicker than I thought possible.

Their Peak to Peak is the most popular. Just to access it, you have to take another gondola there. The views are incredibly, especially through the glass bottom windows. Exploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez ConwayExploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez Conway

It was ideal for going lengthier distances. We biked from downtown Whistler to Coast Mountain Brewing in a flash. Exploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez ConwayExploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez ConwayExploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez ConwayExploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez ConwayExploring Whistler / for the love of nike / Jennifer Martinez ConwayThat marks the end of our Canadian 4th of July weekend.
