the six sneaker commandments

So, you want to be a sneakerhead and save the world?

Follow these 6 Sneaker Commandments,
and you’re well on your way to redefining what it means to be a sustainable Sneakerhead.

No.1

I don’t have 100’s of pairs of shoes, nor do I want that many.

Don’t flood your life with things you don’t actually need.

No.2

Just because a sneaker is a limited release doesn’t mean it’s automatically cool.

If you like it, you like it.
How long you wait in line doesn’t affect that.
The Six Sneaker Commandments / for the love of nike

No. 3

Don’t allow the never-worn to pile up, collecting dust in your closet.

The last thing you need are shoes you don’t even wear.

No. 4

Use the bloody hell out of your sneakers.

They will get dirty, scuffed, and creased. Get over it. Learn to love your sneakers as much as the day you bought them.

No. 5

When the day comes to retire a pair of beloved sneakers, do so with care.

Find a place to recycle them. Do your research.

No. 6

And now, for the grand finale: make your life green.

Expect more from the companies you support.
Expect more from yourself.

Have a tenet you think should be added?
Leave a comment. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

  2. Hey Matthew!
I’m so glad you got to see the site- and I’m glad you like the pictures!
I’m not sure what the count is right now. I’ve gotten a few as of late, but when I get back in Chicago I’ll give you the count.
(that’s where most of them are right now)
I think I’ll be driving by your store again tomorrow on the way to the airport and I’ll most likely stop in again.
    Maybe I’ll see you there!

  3. Great photographs! I’ll be following you – And not because you’re following me, but because your blog is so creative!

  6. Jennifer —-

I Just came upon your site for the first time today, (thanks to Twitter)….and all I can say is WOW!!!….DOUBLE WOW!!!
U R AWESOME!! I was reasonable certain that a woman such as yourself did not exist on the Planet Earth….
I feel like your early post from April of 2011 “The right Things to Call Pretty” (your manifesto) was something I’ve been writing in my head for years!
(although I’ve been writing it as a man in admiration of women in sneakers….)
To be honest, I am not savvy about the technical aspects of collecting (i.e. style names and release dates),
but my day is always…ALWAYS Brightened when the visage of a woman in sneakers presents itself…

Don’t let the non believers wear you down, Keep The Faith Jennifer!

and I really hope we can trade notes or thoughts if you are open to it….

    Rock On!!

Go to a showroom and ask for the cost of a real designer handbag and you’ll never go again to that shop. Large adult pollock can grow up to forty inches in length and weigh in at around thirtyfive pounds, though more typical fish are around a foot in length and weigh anywhere between four and fifteen pounds. That is just how it is in this highly competitive designer handbag fashion era. They search appealing and elegant with tuxedos. There is an online LV find for you to get these bags online.
