It’s well known that the people of Chicago love St. Patrick’s Day. This was my first year to experience it– and it sure was an experience! I started off the day watching the dying of the river. It’s pretty nuts. They dump in a ton of this orange powder and it turns the river bright green. Downtown was packed with people- decked out in holiday apparel.

Then I headed down to Lincoln Park for some green beer and dinosaur chicken nuggets at Kirkwoods. YUM! The next stop was a potluck at my friend’s apartment where we hung out on the rooftop. (The view was amazing!) It was a beautiful day- almost 80 degrees and sunny!

We were up to a bit more shenanigans — bar hopping and eating good food. It was a fun day full of green beer, Guinness, Smithwicks, bacon flights, and watching basketball. (way to go Baylor, by the way!) At the end of the night, we went to Cookie Bar and I got a vegan donut. It was delicious. All in all, it was a great St. Patrick’s Day!

(I wore a pair of Nike blazers, green jeans from Anthropologie, crop top from Urban Outfitters, a mesh shirt from Express, blinking four leafed clover earrings, and an Irish flag tattoo.)
