How absurd is it that you have to pay $$ to check your bag at the airport?
If you’re like me, you want to save money and avoid the hassle of checking a huge bag.
I travel a lot for work, so I’ve had some time to finesse the skill of packing light.
As you’ve probably already noticed, I’m a shoe girl. And I can be a bit absurd.
I like to wear a different pair of sneakers everyday when I travel, but that’s just not practical.
A trick I just figured out is switching out my shoelaces to alter the shoe and give your outfits a bit more pop and diversity from day to day.
Instead of bringing a few different pairs of sneakers, I only take one pair and bring along extra ribbons to switch out.
The photos above are from a trip I recently made to Salt Lake City.
You have to try this out the next time you travel– it’s a real space-saver.
What a great idea to substitute ribbons for laces! I love it!
I am bookmarking this page. What a great idea!

I love this idea of putting ribbons in as laces – it`s great. I don`t own any nikes but I do own a few pairs of converse type high tops and every time I buy a pair I like to buy something real quirky – I had a great pair of converse a few years ago (which eventually fell apart) in a Prince Charles pattern and Ioved them (partly the reason they fell apart because they did live a full life!!). They were the perfect smart casual. Ideal. I love the name of your blog as well For the love of Nike, mainly cos I love the expression `For the love of Mike!`and it reminded me of that straightaway : ) Thanks for stopping by my blog and choosing to follow it : )
It’s always sad to let go of a pair of shoes that have seen better days.
But it is nice knowing they were on your feet through so much.
hahaa– faithful friends to the end! (now I’m getting corny on ya…I should stop while I’m ahead)
Your photos and perspective are very creative. Thanks for following my blog.
thanks a million and four!
OMG! I love the ribbon lace idea! So girly. I have never thought of doing that, but I’m gonna.
