I honestly didn’t know what to expect of Limerick as we drove in, late one night. We got there just in time to catch a little live traditional music at Dolan’s Pub. That’s perhaps where we had the best fish and chips of our trip. The next morning we set off to explore King John’s Castle. This 13th century structure was built on the River Shannon, and remains of of the best preserved Norman castles in Europe. Isn’t it crazy to be standing in something that was built in the 1200s?! Before King John arrived, there was a Viking settlement in its stead. That was all the way back in the 900s. Now that’s really crazy!

Stay tuned! Killarney is next!
What are you drinking? I’m not a Guiness man so I drank a LOT of Smithwicks (‘Smith-icks’) when I was there. Smooth.
I drank both Guinness and Smithwicks and whiskey! haha we drank too much to be honest!
I would love to visit this amazing country, and do exactly what you are doing. I am so jealous!
It really is a great country! Hopefully you can do the same some day!!!!
