After spending Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh, I have a few more travel tips for ya. (Just in case you didn’t get your fill from this one or this one.) Where to Stay: Hotel Monaco: This trendy spot is in a fun location downtown. It’s filled with whacky art, and if you’re there when the weather is accommodating, there’s a great rooftop bar. We had brunch at The Commoner on the lower level. It’s a fun place to grab a drink or […]
Just feeling a bit nostalgic about my trip to London. I thought I’d share a few more snap shots from my time there. What’s your favorite image?
I honestly didn’t know what to expect of Limerick as we drove in, late one night. We got there just in time to catch a little live traditional music at Dolan’s Pub. That’s perhaps where we had the best fish and chips of our trip. The next morning we set off to explore King John’s Castle. This 13th century structure was built on the River Shannon, and remains of of the best preserved Norman castles in Europe. Isn’t it crazy to be […]
Maybe you got to see my post from earlier this week, Discovering Vancouver. Those shots were taken with my Canon 5d. One thing I’ve found in my travels is that when you walk around a new city with a giant camera around your neck–the city presents itself to you differently. When I just walk around with my phone as my camera, there is a such a different vibe. The photos above were all taken with my way outta date iphone. Makes […]
I have thus declared October my adventure month of 2015. I’ll be traveling so much that I want to soak up what little time I have in Chicago. It’s been quite lovely here–I just had to share these shots with you. Now off I go! (p.s. Happy 500th Post from for-the-love-of-nike!!!!!)
Another year, another Lolla. I have a love/hate relationship with it myself. I’m sure that’s true for many. But hey, where else can you see an endless number of bands in a matter of 3 days? Here are a few things I learned about the festival. Let’s start with the etymology of the word. Lollapalooza (lä-lə-pə-ˈlü-zə) is a noun that was first used in the late 1800s meaning “an extraordinary or unusual thing, person, or event; an exceptional example or […]

Take a look at the Willamette River, folks! And take a look at the great view it boasts. Since the last few posts have been about Portland, I thought we could go a little deeper and learn some interesting facts about this great city. Here we go! Portland was named by the flip of a coin. If it had landed on the other side, Portland would be known as Boston, Oregon. The largest wilderness park within city limits is Portland’s […]

Check out this cool Nike sports bra I got the other day! It zips! I paired it with a sweater top from Target, Gianni Bini skirt, Sky High Dunks, and Google Eyes. It’s a great outfit for a stroll in Wicker Park or the Bastille concert I went to that night. (which was awesome, by the way) I’m so ready for Chicago to warm up so I can take more strolls like this.

So I just got back from spending the weekend in Nashville. It’s a lovely place, but I’m not so sure I belong there. It’s the land of country music and cowboy boots. It seems that I should fit right in, being from Texas and all, but I can’t say that I do. Any place that has giant figures of Elvis up and down the street isn’t for me. As a child, I would burst into tears every time “The King” came […]
