There’s no party like a girl-party in the windy city. With one month till the big day, I can mark the bachelorette weekend off my list. We had a blast with great friends, lots of art, drinks, and good food. Here’s a list of what we did, in case any of your guys are planning a trip to Chicago: Howells and Hood (with the largest draft beer selection in the city) Shopping on Magnificent Mile Slid down the Picasso statue […]
I’m big on birthdays. I mean big. I’m not sure why. It’s not like I hope for huge mind-blowing presents or anything like that. It’s just so exciting to have a day where everyone congratulates you for being born and hanging around for another year. I also like dragging the special days out for as long as possible– to milk it for all it’s worth. It only comes once a year after all. Now my birthday is in August, so this post […]

Another year, another Lolla. I have a love/hate relationship with it myself. I’m sure that’s true for many. But hey, where else can you see an endless number of bands in a matter of 3 days? Here are a few things I learned about the festival. Let’s start with the etymology of the word. Lollapalooza (lä-lə-pə-ˈlü-zə) is a noun that was first used in the late 1800s meaning “an extraordinary or unusual thing, person, or event; an exceptional example or […]

In the spirit of gearing up for 3 days of Lollapalooza, I went to the Broken Bells and Wild Cub concert last night at House of Blues. What a great show! The House of Blues in Chicago is really crazy. You can tell it’s an old venue right when you walk in. Then imagine throwing a painted junk yard on the walls and there you go! So Broken Bells is made up of two amazing artists merged into a whole […]

I’m a travelholic, I admit. But this weekend, I actually stayed in town. That left time to act like a tourist in sunny Chicago. On Sunday, I went to the the Lincoln Park Conservatory, The Chicago History Museum, and Lincoln Hotel for a drink at The J. Parker. The Lincoln Park Conservatory: This paradise under glass was built in the late 1800s. Room after room is categorized and filled with different plants. It’s steamy, beautiful, and overwhelming to think how […]

After my recent helicopter adventure in Chicago, it was time to bring the excitement to the water. A few friends and I gathered for a birthday boat ride up and down the Chicago river, complete with the first cheesecake-stand on a boat. I started off as the captain… but believe it or not… I’m a horrible boat driver. So I relinquished the reins, and I think everyone (myself included) was much more at ease.

Whew! That was my first helicopter ride. It was so fun and a little scary. But once you see the really great views, you forget all about your nerves. We flew straight into downtown Chicago, in between iconic buildings like The Hancock Building, Trump Tower, and the Willis Tower. The second we landed, I was ready for another helicopter ride. Who wants to come with me?! take a closer look at my liberty x nike bourton sneaker wedge boot here

“Drink up me hearties, yo ho! We’re rascals, scoundrels villains, and knaves!” I just threw a pirate birthday party, complete with a giant treasure map, treasure chests, gummy bears, inflatable beards, and cupcake stands. (in lue of keg stands, of course) I wanted to dress accordingly, so I wore a blue dress from Target. Check out the wave-like pattern on it! I paired it with a pair of my Liberty of London Sky Highs, perhaps with the kind of pattern you’d see on a […]
