The Dallas Museum of Art has been around since 1903. That was a long time ago! It started off as a room, founded by The Art Committee of the Public Library. Show after show, the organization pushed forward and expanded. The collection continued to grow until it became what it is today. You know me, sneakers and art are paramount, so exploring an art museum in a new set of kicks is one of my favorite activities. I love seeing […]

In the spirit of gearing up for 3 days of Lollapalooza, I went to the Broken Bells and Wild Cub concert last night at House of Blues. What a great show! The House of Blues in Chicago is really crazy. You can tell it’s an old venue right when you walk in. Then imagine throwing a painted junk yard on the walls and there you go! So Broken Bells is made up of two amazing artists merged into a whole […]

After my recent helicopter adventure in Chicago, it was time to bring the excitement to the water. A few friends and I gathered for a birthday boat ride up and down the Chicago river, complete with the first cheesecake-stand on a boat. I started off as the captain… but believe it or not… I’m a horrible boat driver. So I relinquished the reins, and I think everyone (myself included) was much more at ease.

The Kimbell in Fort Worth, Texas is on of my favorite museums. I’m a Michelangelo freak, so that might explain it. A few years ago, The Kimbell acquired The Torment of Saint Anthony. It is supposedly Michelangelo’s first painting. You can see it above– depicting an old guy being attacked by a buncha demons. How cool is that? In college, I would drive to Fort Worth just to see it again and again. It made me feel that much closer to […]

So everyone in the continental US seemed to be aware of the horrendous weather last week, that is everyone but the people in California. I spent a few of the worst stormy days in Santa Monica and I was quite convinced there was no better place to be. I must admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of LA until my experience this past trip. I didn’t want to leave. Putting myself in the taxi to go back to the […]

New Year’s Eve is a great excuse to dress up in your fancy-smanshy clothes. I wore my new aluminum jewelry from the Art Institute in Chicago with my favorite black velvet dress. Throw in my long beaded gloves from Target and a faux fur hat from Canada and you’re ready to ring in the new year! But don’t forget the lipstick…super red Dior Addict Gloss will do the trick. Then top the outfit off with the Fashion Week Tokyo Sky […]

Visiting Pittsburgh is always an adventure. I finally made my way to Primanti Bros., where the french fries abound. In Pittsburgh, sandwiches come with the fries on the inside. Originally that was to make lunches easier for workers in the Strip District to eat on the go. It stuck around because it’s delicious. I also got to see the Rubber Duck floating in the Allegheny River. What a site to behold! Dutch artist, Florentijn Hofman, dreamed up this 40ft. attraction that travels around to different cities. Until next time, […]
