So everyone in the continental US seemed to be aware of the horrendous weather last week, that is everyone but the people in California. I spent a few of the worst stormy days in Santa Monica and I was quite convinced there was no better place to be. I must admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of LA until my experience this past trip. I didn’t want to leave. Putting myself in the taxi to go back to the airport, I felt like a toddler who’d rather crumple on the floor in an obstinate tantrum than return to the icy tundra that Chicago had morphed into in my absence. (really mature, huh?) It even made me sad to look back at the pictures a few days after my return to reality. That’s why it’s taken me a week to post them. Enjoy!

Great photos as always. Good eye for composition. It is snowin’ and blowin’ here in Colorado. Beam me up Scotty. California or Florida will do.
I agree! why do we put ourselves through this winter torture!
Wow, you do some great photography! Nice job!

Couldn’t agree with you more. I was just bicycling along Santa Monica, Venice Beach, etc., last week and thinking the same things as you (except for the part about Chicago!), only my day didn’t have to end getting back on an airplane. Glad you enjoyed!
Sue! You’re lucky!
Believe me, I know!!!! š
After a while, you’ll begin to miss winter … may be. Then, you’ll begin to miss a real Chicago-style pizza, a real hot dog, and the kind. š
You’re probably right, David… I’m just such a summer-child. Sometimes I have a really great time snuggling up on the couch on a snow day though.
