Queenstown in New Zealand is so amazing, even the drive into town is out-of-control-beautiful. This city is like a Disney World for grown ups. It’s the home of the jetboat (an insane boat ride with 360s and death stops that made me laugh uncontrollably because I was so nervous) and full of plenty of other ways to risk your life doing adventure sports, be it bungee jumping or helicopter rides with crazy pilots. Here’s the view of Queenstown from the hill. I have thus declared October my adventure month of 2015. I’ll be traveling so much that I want to soak up what little time I have in Chicago. It’s been quite lovely here–I just had to share these shots with you. Now off I go! (p.s. Happy 500th Post from for-the-love-of-nike!!!!!)
Yellowstone is one of the oldest national parks in the world. President Ulysses S. Grant signed it into law in 1872. The park stretches across Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, with scattered geothermic features spread across the land. Old Faithful, the most famous of the attractions, is a geyser that erupts every 91 minutes. I have to say that my favorite site in the park is The Grand Prismatic Spring, which is appropriately named. It’s the 3rd largest hot spring in the world, […]

Pittsburgh is surprisingly a fun city to see as a tourist. It’s hilly and bridge-y and filled with good art. The natives, also known as Yinzers, are down to earth, sports fanatics, and like french fries in their sandwiches. where to drink: Fathead’s Fatheads is the place to grab a great beer (or a few of them). They have 42 continually rotating taps and the food is tasty too. where to sightsee: Gateway Clipper Cruise The Allegheny and the Monongahela […]

The Air and Water Show in Chicago is one of the greatest summer events in this grand ol’ city. Pilots perform tricks over Lake Michigan and boats do there thing in the water below. It’s the right time to find your way to a rooftop deck so you can sit back and enjoy, drink beer, and dip your feet in a pool. I wore a child’s Lacoste shirt I bought in a Greek bazaar a few years back (so who […]

Well lookout for the craziest zipline/obstacle course ever, smack dab in the middle of Outer Banks in North Carolina. From shimmying across ropes, to jumping from one barrel to another, to kayaking in the air, endurance and strength is put to the ultimate test. It was excruciatingly fun and terrifying, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. what I wore: Nike Roshe Runs from the Gradient Pack, a Nike logo Tee, Gap leggings from the Gap Fit line, and […]

Take a look at the Willamette River, folks! And take a look at the great view it boasts. Since the last few posts have been about Portland, I thought we could go a little deeper and learn some interesting facts about this great city. Here we go! Portland was named by the flip of a coin. If it had landed on the other side, Portland would be known as Boston, Oregon. The largest wilderness park within city limits is Portland’s […]
