A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to visit Happy Acre Farm in Sunol, California. Sunol is a teeny tiny town with a population just under 1,000 people. Back in the early 1980s, Bosco Ramos, a black Labrador and Rottweiler mix, beat out two (human) candidates in the mayoral election. Bosco ended up serving as honorary mayor until his death in 1994. There is still a statue standing in his honor outside the Sunol Post Office. The city itself […]
Just before the holidays, Carhartt WIP and Nike came out with a beeeaaaauuutiful line of sneakers. (Yes, I’m very behind in posting.) As you probably guessed, it was a men’s line, but that would never deter me. I got a pair of the Air Force 1 07s. These little babes are covered in Dearborn Canvas, have a snap loop, and a Carhartt logo on one of the tongues. Scroll down to see some of my favorite details. I happened to […]
Happy Fourth of July, y’all! Wrap yourself in an American flag, guzzle down a good brew, and watch the fireworks roar. This year, I’m celebrating in Sea Isle. Sun and sand make everything better. If you’re up to seeing a few of my other patriotic posts, take a look at this crafty gif and this red, white, and blue visor. May your holiday be filled with sea and beer froth alike. Outfit #1: Carhartt Men’s T-Shirt, Nike Shorts, Victoria’s Secret […]

Take a look at the Willamette River, folks! And take a look at the great view it boasts. Since the last few posts have been about Portland, I thought we could go a little deeper and learn some interesting facts about this great city. Here we go! Portland was named by the flip of a coin. If it had landed on the other side, Portland would be known as Boston, Oregon. The largest wilderness park within city limits is Portland’s […]

Downtown Portland is fun too. Sometimes I forget because I love exploring the nature that surrounds the city so much. But this place is jam packed with good food and good beer. I ate a food truck almost every day and I wore lots of plaid. Plus, how cute is the little lady in the last photo above. That’s some serious shoe game there. my outfit: gap boyfriend jeans, carhartt shirt & hat, and nike sky hi sneaker wedges

Trips to the Art Institute always improve my day. Honestly, they improve much more than that. After visiting a museum, seeing new pieces and familiar works, those creations stick with you. It’s like the images are on instant replay in your mind, just like a good movie (or a bad one for that matter). Recently I went to see the Christopher Wool exhibit at the Art Institute in Chicago. His work is shown in the last few photos above, excluding the […]

Last week I went to Seattle for a couple of days. What a great city! And what a great place for a night stroll, as long as you stay dry and warm. I wandered around Pike Place Market for a bit. Did you know it opened in 1907? That makes it one of the oldest public farmer’s markets in the US. It’s also home of the first Starbucks. So that’s cool– I guess. There will be more pictures soon!

I went to NTC in Lincoln Park to pick up a pair of the green Roshe Run Boots the other day. As you know from my other posts, I’m not afraid of color. So it isn’t that much of a jump to think I see colors a bit differently. To a lot of people, neutrals are considered to be white, black, nudes, and shades in between. To me, great neutrals consist of those typical shades and I tend to throw […]

This is my niece, Lily. It’s the funniest thing when you catch babies in very grown up stances or poses. This is the day we taught Lily what pockets are. She liked them at first, but got a little frustrated when she couldn’t pull her hands out of them on her own. If Lily could talk, she’d probably tell you all about the bracelet she’s wearing. and puppies. Puppies! Puppies! Puppies!
