The first time I visited Minneapolis, I was a very young 25 year-old who had never driven in snow. (Thanks, Texan-upbringing!) Of course, my trip aligned with one hell of a snow storm, so it was a challenging and bitterly cold experience. I met some amazing women during that trip: like Kelly Pepper and Kelly McDermott who built houses with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, and Artist Laura Brown who showed me around the printing press studio, or Suzy Clark […]
Tinsley House in Bozeman, MT is over 100 years old, and life goes on about as if no time has passed since the day it was built. The entire structure was moved from its original location of Willow Creek so it could be near the Museum of the Rockies. A staff, dressed in the traditional garb of the day, runs the homestead. Fresh pies are baked daily, a metal smith and carpenter are on staff, maintaing the property, and the […]

Yellowstone is one of the oldest national parks in the world. President Ulysses S. Grant signed it into law in 1872. The park stretches across Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, with scattered geothermic features spread across the land. Old Faithful, the most famous of the attractions, is a geyser that erupts every 91 minutes. I have to say that my favorite site in the park is The Grand Prismatic Spring, which is appropriately named. It’s the 3rd largest hot spring in the world, […]

Downtown Portland is fun too. Sometimes I forget because I love exploring the nature that surrounds the city so much. But this place is jam packed with good food and good beer. I ate a food truck almost every day and I wore lots of plaid. Plus, how cute is the little lady in the last photo above. That’s some serious shoe game there. my outfit: gap boyfriend jeans, carhartt shirt & hat, and nike sky hi sneaker wedges

Check out this cool Nike sports bra I got the other day! It zips! I paired it with a sweater top from Target, Gianni Bini skirt, Sky High Dunks, and Google Eyes. It’s a great outfit for a stroll in Wicker Park or the Bastille concert I went to that night. (which was awesome, by the way) I’m so ready for Chicago to warm up so I can take more strolls like this.
