As the seasons change, I get the itch to document it. This year, I did do a bit of exploring to catch the leaves as they turned. (Check out my photos from Colorado and Arkansas if you’re interested.) Next year, I’ve decided to make it a point to do a few more fall themed trips. Until then, here’s what Kansas City, MO had to offer: Below you’ll see KC firefighters squirting a symbolic saber arch over a road a busload […]
I’ve lived in Kansas City, MO for a year now and I’ve had the itch to discover the nature in this neck of the woods. Last weekend, I made the long trek (5.5 hours in a car) to the Ozark National Forest in the Ozark Mountains. Here it is! Whitacker Point in Arkansas. The hike itself was very easy and should only take an hour or so (if you’re not taking tons of photos). It was the drive to the trailhead […]
Weston is a tiny little town, just outside Kansas City, Missouri. With a population of 1,641, it’s absolutely the kind of town where everyone knowns each other’s names. First, we stopped in at the Weston Red Barn Farm. You can pick apples, pet animals, and shop at their general store. Then we grabbed a bite to eat at Green Dirt Farm. This place is great! It’s a deli and sheep milk creamery. What’s better than a sheep’s milk grilled cheese […]
I just got back from a whirlwind, 2 week trip around Germany (and a few other countries). As you should, when in Germany during the month of October, I went to Oktoberfest in Munich. It was awesome: giant tents, cram-packed with people dressed to the nines in their dirndls and lederhosen, binging on beer and white sausage, drenched in mustard. We spent most of the day in the Hacker Pschorr tent, stuffing our faces with giant pretzels and the märzen […]
I just got back from a quick trip tp Syracuse, New York. Not too much to report. It’s a small-feeling town surrounded by a good bit of nature. A few fall leaves were still hanging around, but for the most part, winter has already taken its first breath. I’ve been scouring the internet trying to find something interesting about the little city to share with y’all…but to no avail. Just take a look at the “little known facts” page on […]
The city of Nashville and what is considered to be “music country” is located in the north central region of Tennessee, nestled into the Cumberland River. It has a sweet skyline and the downtown area is easy to get around on foot. If you travel down Broadway towards the river, you’ll hear live country music pouring out of every bar and saloon. Contrary to belief, even if you’re not a country fan, Nashville is still a fun city. Trust me, I have […]
I got this hoodie a while back while I was in Portland. It’s an interesting piece to have in your closet. The bold colors and length make a statement indeed. At first thought, it’s great for workouts or a walk to the gym. But I wanted to take it a step further and turn it into street-wear. Here are the two ways I came up with. Which look do you prefer? I put these photos side by side because the […]
Welcome to your Wednesday Rewind, folks! This is a post from 2011. I was rummaging through some old photos and found this series. Butternut squash and fall and chevron and Nikes and Missoni. Sounds like pure bliss, huh? yep. What do you think I should paint this year?
