Banff National Park

After hanging out in Calgary, we took off in our little FIAT towards Banff. It was a breathtaking drive and it took just over an hour. With a quick pit stop in the quaint downtown, I grabbed a coffee and a slice o’ keesh at Whitebark Cafe. Then we were ready to get our hike on.

We took the gondola up the side of Sulphur Mountain and explored the area. Lots of little critters were there to greet us. It was sweet to sit there and watch them scurry around until they perched themselves into the perfect spot with a view.

After going a smidge off course, I found a rock in the shape of Texas. It is now one of my most prized possessions–my Texas from the Canadian Rockies!

This little jaunt only took a few hours and it was definitely worth the views. Take a look at the last picture below. Isn’t it amazing to see the old glaciers’ trails so defined? Geology is the best!
