San Francisco Wanderings

As promised, here are a few more of my San Francisco wanderings. The first stop on our 2nd day in the hilly city was China Town. I picked up a few knick knacks and Chinese pastries along the way. Then got a quick breakfast at Taylor Street Coffee Shop (which is really more of a hallway than a restaurant–but so good). We split the Sailor Hash. yum.

Next we wandered through Little Italy until we reached Coit Tower. The line was insanely long, so we simply took a look at the collection of murals that covered the 1st floor (see a few photos below). The tower is perched up on a relatively high hill, so there is a good view from the base of the structure as well.

Then we barreled through the crowds along the piers to fight our way to a bowl of chowder at Fisherman’s Grotto. It was good, but we scrammed the moment we finished. On the way outta there, we came across Kennedy’s Irish Pub. This hidden gem is nestled against a Thai restaurant. It’s quirky and full of flavor. The night ended with an enormous cocktail and fake hurricanes at Tonga Room (in the bottom of the Fairmont).
