Happy Opening Day (from a person who knows basically nothing about baseball)!

To celebrate Opening Day, I thought I’d share photos from a Cubs themed weekend getaway in Chicago. Hotel Zachary, right across Clark St. from Wrigley Field, has some of the best views of the stadium. Before the Zachary was built just a few years ago, only a handful of people had the pleasure of seeing the beloved sports venue from their bed. Take a look at our hotel room in the pictures below.Hotel Zachary and Wrigley Field in Chicago / for the love of nikeHotel Zachary and Wrigley Field in Chicago / for the love of nike

Hotel Zachary is covered in restaurants and bars (like Big Star, Dutch & Doc’s, and Jeni’s Ice Cream). Below you’ll see the lobby, with ample space to hang with friends. Immediately beyond that is a really fun outdoor bar where you can eat and drink before game days, just above the Cubs insanity below.

Hotel Zachary serves one of the all time favorite Chicago beers, Tuna from Half Acre Brewing Co.

As I mentioned before, ground level of Hotel Zachary is filled with Chicago staples, including the ever popular Big Star. This Wicker Park treasure recently opened their first Lakeview location, where you can sit across from Wrigley Field, enjoying a margarita pitcher with friends. (Big Star is such a favorite of mine, we served their tacos and guac at my wedding in Pilsen in 2015.) Hotel Zachary and Wrigley Field in Chicago / for the love of nike

Never miss an opportunity for great guac, and you’ll live a happier life.
