Welcome to Jaipur! My most favorite and final stop on the Golden Triangle. The colors, the food, the art–there’s so much to love about this place.
It’s known as the Pink City. Probably because most of the buildings are pink. It’s also known as the Paris of India, which makes me chuckle in only the best way.

Pictured below is perhaps the most recognizable structure in Jaipur: The Hawa Mahal. It’s made of pink and red sandstone with nearly 1,000 windows. The complex lattice work is often compared to a honeycomb.
Jaipur is also home to one of India’s oldest Jantar Mantar–300 year old astronomical instruments.
Vrihat Samrat Yantra: the world’s largest stone sundial
Jantar Mantar are considered one of the world’s most accurate pre-modern observatories.
These structures were designed to be used with the naked eye.
Jaipur was founded in 1727 by King of Amer, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.
It’s also the capital of Rajasthan.

With 3.1 million residents, Jaipur is the 10th largest city in India.
Outdoor barbershops are all over India. Pretty creative if you ask me.

Jaipur is home to some of the most expensive hotel suites on earth. There are rooms with a going rate of $50,000 a night. *that is not where we stayed
