My second time visiting Frankfurt involved way less beer.

Although, I did have an NA or two. Europe has so many fun options for those who aren’t imbibing.

The Römerberg is a reconstructed square in the middle of old town. Much of the medieval town was destroyed in WWII. Creepily enough, it was a site of Nazi book burning in 1933.

The folks who call Frankfurt home enjoy a high qualities of life.
And 1 out of every 4 people is from another country.

In Frankfurt, the buildings are tall and the stock exchange is big.
It’s home to most of Germany’s skyscapers and one of the largest stock exchanges in the world.

The Eiserner Steg bridge was built in 1869 and only allows for foot traffic.

In WWII, when the zoo was bombed, the animals roamed free in the streets.

Apfelwein Struwwelpeter is a great little restaurant with lots of Frankfurt specialties. Their sign features Der Struwwelpeter (which translates to shock-headed Peter). He’s a character from a German children’s book that’s filled with cautionary tales about the consequences of bad behavior.

My husband enjoyed the apfelwein while I had a mixture of tart apple juice and tonic water. It was pretty good!
