Mammoths in Texas!

This weekend, I went to a mammoth excavation site in Waco, Texas. I can’t even begin to explain to you how beautiful the remains were. Below is a picture of the indoor part of the site. A few years ago, they stopped the digging process so that people could come in and see the bones…

I wanted to carry the idea of the rubbings I took from the soles of my shoes even further by translating them into the computer. The result was this psychedelic creation.

I made a few rubbings from the soles of a few pairs of my Nikes that were inspired by Liberty of London’s summer Nike collection. The rubbing (left) is next to the print that inspired by it (right). Beneath the prints is a picture of the shoe the rubbing was made from.
