Sneakers in Sydney

I’m so excited to share one of the most remarkable trips I’ve ever taken with you all. It started through a jet lagged foggy haze Down Under. I just wrapped a weeklong shoot in California (see some of that trip on my Carhartt blog here), and I had a few new lenses in tow. My incredible travel-deal-driven husband booked us first class tickets–all on points.

The trip was long, but raced by: A week and a half in Australia, a few days in Fiji, and a week and a half in New Zealand.

Our first few days were in Sydney. We stayed at the Old Clare Hotel, a sweet little boutique with a lot of character. We took a self-guided tour of the University of Sydney–walked for miles and miles trying to acquaint ourselves with the area. We walked across the Harbor Bridge to the North shore to get the picturesque view of the Sydney Opera House.  Looked around the odd Luna Park before hopping on the ferry back over to the business district. Then ended the night at Redoak Boutique Brewery for a few pints and some food.

My favorite part about the city is all the vegetation that’s been incorporated into the facades of many buildings. Oh–and all the women working on construction sites all around the city. Girl power forever!
