Snow Day in Kansas City, MO

It recently poured snow in Kansas City a few days ago, giving me my first opportunity to see this little town blanketed in winter goodness. The streets were pretty empty, leaving the snow basically pristine (a sight I rarely ever saw in Chicago). Snow Day in Kansas City, MO / Crafted in CarharttWe celebrated the snow-weekend like a couple of no good millennials who pay too much for avocado toast. This particular mouthwatering brunch was at one of my favorite KCMO cafes, Banksia. The owners are from Australia, so yes–this place serves flat whites (an espresso with micro foam, which makes for a stronger, tastier latte). Their Bloody Maria’s are pretty great too.

It was like a ghost town and we were kicked out once we neared the monument itself. A loud voice came over the speakers and told us, “you two walking alone with a camera,” to get outta there.

I know sneakerheads are known for having an ever-growing collection of shoes. But that is something I greatly try to limit. We honestly don’t need as much stuff as we buy. That’s why I geek out when I can keep a pair for years and years, getting great use out of them along the way. I purchased these Nike ACG boots in 2013 and have been wearing the heck out of them since. Wahoo for shoes that last and saying no to things I don’t need! Snow Day in Kansas City, MO / Crafted in Carhartt
