I’m a firm believer that the sneaker wedge is the perfect concert-going shoe. It’s comfortable and gives you a few inches of lift to see above the people standing in front of you. All you short girls know what I’m talking about. and VIVA CHICAGO! a wonderland of concerts and live music!
Another trend taking the fashion world by storm is the mullet dress. Love it or hate it, it will most likely stick around for a while just like the hairdo that originally inspired it. For the most part, I’m onboard with the fad as long as it’s done right. It’s easy for mullet dresses to look cheap and give the illusion of stumpy legs, so I reserve the right to pass judgement on them in a case by case basis. […]
Pitchfork 2012 has come and gone– with all the hipsters and musical festival lovers you could throw an ironic rock at. I went with my friend, Paige, on Sunday. and it was a blast! We saw some great bands– Real Estate, Beach House, and Vampire Weekend to name a few. Since cameras with detachable lenses aren’t allowed into the park, I brought a few disposable cameras that I taped straws to and manipulated with glue and by scratching the […]
I’m convinced that there are very few things better in this world than a Chicago summer. Last night, a couple of friends and I went to a Foster the People concert at Congress Theater in Logan Square. Before the show, we grabbed dinner at The Boiler Room. They have a deal there called the PBJ– where you get a slice of pizza, a beer, and a shot for $5. Quite a bargain if I do say so myself. Congress Theater is such […]
Hooray! An outfit fit for a 24 year old! And in case you don’t know me, I’m a big lover of all things birthday. So here’s my special birthday outfit. It’s a little Banana Republic, Anthropologie, and of course Nike. It has been a lovely day so far, and I’m thinking it will only get better. I’m hoping to ride a killer whale across a diamond sea tonight. (a bit ridiculous, I know. That’s just how I envision tonight happening.) […]
Pitchfork is a music festival held in Chicago every summer. It lasts for 3 days. I went to the first two days and it was a blast. The talent blew me away and the atmosphere was great too- really laid back. There’s lots of music, beer, food, awesome clothes, and so many great sneakers. We saw Tune-yards, James Blake, Curren$y, Animal Collective, Wild Nothing, The Dismemberment Plan, Fleet Foxes, and a few others. The concert didn’t allow cameras with detachable […]
This may be a weird post- I’m just REALLY, REALLY excited about seeing Fleet Foxes at Pitchfork this month! I fell head over heals in love with them the moment I saw their album art for their debut album. The painting they used is by Peter Bruegel called The Topsy Turvy World which depicts many Netherlandish Proverbs. The reason I geeked out over that painting is because Peter Bruegel painted one of my favorite paintings of all time, The Blind […]
Here’s another pair of really colorful Nikes I saw him in a sea of people walking into the concert. These are the Nike ACG (black olive red blue plum). I love all the colors!
